In this unit, students research how a place in Rockland County has changed over time. They gather information from photographs, maps, and family stories, and identify a person or group connected to how that place changed.
As students work toward the culminating performance task, they build a Community Timeline that places their chosen location's past, present, and connected people in order, explaining their thinking as they go. Students stretch their thinking from the past to the future and add their timeline to the class's shared Community Story Wall.Unit 7
